Lava Blaze X

Lava, the Indian smartphone giant, recently launched the Blaze X, targeting the budget segment with a curved display and a focus on everyday users.

We spent some time with the phone, and here’s our take on whether the Lava Blaze X lives up to the hype.

Lava Blaze X: Striking Looks and A Comfortable Grip

The Blaze X’s most striking feature is undoubtedly its curved display. At 6.67 inches, the AMOLED panel offers a vivid viewing experience with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.

While the display lacks high-end protection details, its brightness ensures good outdoor visibility.

The phone comes in two colors – Starlight Purple and Titanium Grey – and despite the plastic back and frame, it feels surprisingly comfortable to hold, thanks to the curved design.

Performance Optimized for Daily Use

The Lava Blaze X is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, paired with 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of RAM.

While it might not be a powerhouse for heavy gamers, the phone handles everyday tasks and casual gaming well.

The user interface feels clean, with minimal bloatware, making for a smooth user experience.

The phone comes with Android 14 out of the box and promises two years of security updates. However, an extended software update timeline would be a welcome addition.

Camera System with Room for Improvement

The camera system on the Blaze X is a bit of a mixed bag. The 64MP primary sensor captures decent photos in daylight conditions, but low-light performance is average.

The 16MP selfie camera fares better, offering good video call quality. While the camera app offers various modes, it could benefit from some polish for a more intuitive user experience.

Battery Life and Other Features

The Blaze X packs a 5000mAh battery, which easily lasts a full day on a single charge with moderate usage. The phone supports 33W fast charging, ensuring quick top-ups when needed.

Notably, the phone lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, but Lava includes a Type-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box.

The Lava Blaze X offers a compelling package for budget-conscious users. The curved display, long battery life, and clean software experience are its strong points.

While the camera system and software updates could be improved, the phone delivers good value for its starting price of Rs. 13,999 (with discounts).

If you’re looking for a stylish and capable daily driver without breaking the bank, the Lava Blaze X is definitely worth considering.
